Tuesday Night Meditation

    Tuesdays, 7:00 – 8:00 PM | Open to all | By donation

    Join us in group practice of the Shambhala community’s core discipline of mindfulness-awareness meditation. Periods of silent sitting meditation alternate with shorter periods of walking meditation. Each session starts and ends with chants.

    Introductory meditation instruction and follow-up guidance are available at 7:00 PM. (To learn about meditation instruction see our Meditation page.)

    We provide meditation cushions, benches and chairs. You may come and go as you like.

    Following at 8:00 PM is Ocean of Dharma Study Group.

    Starting August 1st and going indefinitely, there will be a Lojong Study Group as well as the Ocean of Dharma study group.

    The group will meet 8 - 9 PM in the upper meditation hall.

    Lojong Study Group

    The Lojong Study Group is working with the Seven Points of Training the Mind.


    Atisha (980-1052 CE) was an Indian adept who brought to Tibet a systematized approach to bodhicitta (the desire to awaken for the sake of all sentient beings) and loving-kindness, through working with these slogans.

    The lojong teachings are organized around seven points that contain fifty-nine slogans that remind us how to awaken our hearts and purify our motivations and attitudes.
