This weekend is an introduction to a year of personal training in the Shambhala Mahayana teachings, supported by the study and practice of the Sadhana of Kindness. We invite all members who have completed the foundational training and the Rigden, Unconditional Confidence weekend, as well as senior members who completed the sutrayana seminary.

During this weekend, Acharya Susan Chapman will offer lungs (permission readings) for the entire Sadhana of Kindness and it's accompanying practices. Participants will receive personal copies of the text which will become their main practice for the following year, the Way of the Moon.

The Way of the Moon is a year of supported study and practice of the Sadhana of Kindness along with other mahayana texts and the teachings on arousing bodhicitta. It will include four or five one-day retreats along with Study Salons, facilitated by local mentor- teachers and online talks.
Treatise on Kindness:  To prepare for the Way of the Moon weekend, members may form study salons to receive and discuss the Treatise on Kindness. The Lung for this text will given by Shastri Rebecca Hazell or Shastri Mark Hazell.

Together with the Treatise on Enlightened Society and The Supreme Thought (which is introduced later in the year) these teachings are a trilogy on what it means to be a Shambhala Society.
