We are delighted to announce the launch of a new study group on the basic teachings of the Buddha, known in Tibetan Buddhism as the Hinayana or Foundational Vehicle. This six-week study group will centre on the Four Noble Truths and will be facilitated by Suzanne Sparling and Mike Lenz, with further support from Cameron Crofton and Layth Matthews. It will begin with an introductory evening on Tuesday, November 13 and continue for the next five Tuesdays, ending on December 18.

The introductory evening will include a short talk, discussion, and reading assignments for the balance of the study group. The group will depend on participants coming prepared to offer insights and questions. Each session will feature short presentations summarizing the key points found in the readings for the week, but the focus will be on discussion and mutual exploration of how we can incorporate the truth of these teachings into our lives. Hearing each other’s insights and questions can help us all penetrate to the depths of the teachings.

Although there is no fee associated with this study group, it would be very helpful if you would register by clicking the link below. Participants are asked to purchase two books if they don't already own them:  The Truth of Suffering and the Path of Liberation and The Path of Individual Liberation -- Volume One of the Profound Treasury of the Ocean of Dharma, both by Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.
