We welcome everyone to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche on Thusday, April 4th,  the 28th anniversary of his parinirvana (or passing).

Trungpa Rinpoche was one of the greatest Buddhist teachers of our lifetime. Born in Tibet in 1940, he was forced into exile by the Chinese in 1957, became a refugee in India and won a Spaulding scholarship to study in England. After infamously giving up his vows as a monk, he married a young British aristocrat and proceeded to take North America by storm with his brilliant, outrageous and original mind and vast heart of compassion, humour and love. To learn more about his life and legacy see the Chogyam Trungpa page on Shambhala’s central website.
